Broussia Dortmund’s fan department kicked off their “No Beer For Racists” campaign on the club’s official website Tuesday, spearheading a local movement against Neo-Nazism.
The campaign will supply local pubs with a total of one million beer coasters containing the “No Beer for Racists” motto. The club’s website also posted a page with “hard facts against dull statements” as part of the campaign. There one can find retorts to ignorant yet all-too-common cries against immigrants such as “They took our jobs” and “They don’t even want to integrate.”
Dortmund has one of the biggest right-wing political scenes in Germany, and cases of racism and Neo-Nazism have plagued the city recently. For instance, a journalist who wrote about the rising problem was pelted with rocks and received death threats on Monday.
“Borussia Dortmund, the fan department and all BVB fans bear responsibility to take a clear stand against xenophobic and inhumane slogans rather than not listening to them,” BVB president Reinhard Rauball said. “For tolerance and a colourful BVB, against racism and xenophobia.”
My 4 year old son came to me today and asked me why God made us black. He didn’t understand why he was black when everyone else in his preschool class is white. It was amazing I could get on tumblr today and show him all the black people who were proud of their dark skin and how black people come in different shades, size, and backgrounds. I love my black skin and I will make damn sure he loves his too.
(FreeP) Birmingham police say it appears an 18-year-old student at Seaholm High School on Wednesday gave his teacher a cookie laced with marijuana.
“That’s what we’re looking into,” Police Chief Don Studt said, adding a toxicology lab was given a sample of the teacher’s blood to test for marijuana.
The teacher became ill shortly after eating the cookie and was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital by a family member. He was released from the hospital a short time later and is currently home recuperating.
